This week has liver damaging potential written all over it. The festivities will begin Friday night at Young At Art’s Artini party at the Dixon Gallery. There is also a possibility that we may go to Wild Bill’s for a little juke joint fun and 40 ounce consumption.
Its looking like Saturday will begin early with pre-game Bloodies and Mimosas before heading to the FedEx Forum for the 11 am tip off of the Conference USA battle between the Memphis Tigers and the SMU Mustangs. We will be watching the game from our corporate suite, so there should be plenty of food and adult beverages. After the game, the plan is to hit several Downtown watering holes and play the rest of the day by ear.
For those that are interested, there will be a beer tasting at Raffe’s Beer Garden on Saturday night. Tickets are $25 and there is supposed to be entertainment provided by a local belly dancing troupe.
Sunday should be a low-key day, although the Superbowl could quickly change the plans. A lazy evening at home, catered with pork shoulder and ribs from Whole Hog Café should make perfect end to the weekend.
I’m rooting for the Colts to win the big game. Since I’m a “mush” the Bears will probably edge out the win 27 – 24.
