Here are a few recommendations for people looking to get out of the house this weekend.
A change of pace at the Levitt Shell this weekend with film night on Friday and Saturday. Friday night will begin at 7pm with Elvis '68 Special. Big Lebowski hits the big screen on Saturday night at 8:45pm. Both events are free.
There will also be a jazz concert Sunday night at the Shell. Sax In The City featuring the Strickly Jazz Quartet will kick things off a little after 6pm. Tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for children under 17. Gates open at 5pm.
Zoo Boo starts at the Memphis Zoo on Friday. A costume contest and rock climbing are just a couple of the fun things that will be going on at the zoo. If you can't make on Friday night, Zoo Boo continues on October 17, 23 and 24.
The University of Memphis men's and women's basketball kick off their seasons at Memphis Madness on Friday night at the FedEx Forum. Fans can check out the teams scrimmage against each other and there will be a slam dunk and three point shooting contests. Celebrity judges for the contest will be currently Grizzlies Rudy Gay, Allen Iverson and former Tiger and NBA all-star Penny Hardaway. Admission is free.
