Grizzlies Continue Streak, Tigers Win, Trouble In Oxford?

How about that? After a 102-97 road win over the Philadelphia 76ers, the Memphis Grizzlies have a three game winning streak. Where is the sudden inspiration coming from? Is the team finally gelling? Could it be the combined 11-27 record of the opponents during the streak? Or maybe because the A.I. experiment distraction/cancer is no longer on their minds? It doesn't really matter. Wins are wins. The Grizzlies bring their winning streak back to Memphis Saturday night when they take on the Milwaukee Bucks.

The Memphis Tigers got back in the win column after beating up Tennessee Tech 92-59 Friday night. It was a nice win after suffering a tough loss against #1 ranked Kansas earlier in the week.

Ole Miss was hoping to be in the eye of the national media for its on the field performance against LSU Saturday afternoon. Instead, negative attention may be the biggest news out of Oxford. After several days of speculation, it has been confirmed that the Ku Klux Klan will hold a rally in Oxford. Representatives have stated they intend to hold a peaceful rally to protest a song recently banned by the University because the song ends with fans yelling "The South Will Rise Again." Ole Miss has indicated they will not have an increased security presence (not really sure if that is a smart idea).

It will be interesting to see how the Rebel coaching staff spins this for recruits. Every other team recruiting against Ole Miss will remind prospects of this incident to try and sway them away from Oxford.

Here's the bottom line. The Ole Miss Rebels play in Oxford tomorrow, the KKK plans to be there and fans may get lucky and see some interesting things. There may be a cake raffle.

Or an under the robe contest.
