Quick Hits: Downtown Dining Continues, More Coaching Changes Needed, Football

Downtown Dining Week continues through Saturday at participating restaurants. This appears to have been a successful promotion with busy restaurants and happy diners. Why doesn't the Memphis Restaurant Association have a similar promotion city-wide?

The New Orleans Hornets were not happy with the results of the their team, so they fired head coach Byron Scott. The Grizzlies should take the same step and dismiss Lionel Hollins. With a 1-8 record this season and a 32-80 overall record as head coach of the Grizzlies, Hollins needs to go. Continued losses will lead to even lower attendance and another failed lottery pick. Sounds like the perfect making for a relocation to Seattle.

Football

Things appear to be back to normal in Knoxville. A few wins under their belts and the criminal enterprise back in motion.

R.C. Johnson continues to the Memphis football coach search after firing Tommy West earlier this week. A new name on the list might be Virginia Tech defensive coordinator Bud Foster who stated “That might be a job I might be interested in. I think there’s a lot of things that are attractive about it.” Other new names appearing on the the rumor mill are Lou Holtz and Florida defensive coordinator Charlie Strong. Foster would be good. Holtz, not so much. Strong would be...strong.

And now for the picks.
