Here are a few recommendations for people looking to get out of the house this weekend.
Beer lovers will enjoy Young At Art's Art On Tap on Friday night. This is always a strong event with a large selection of beers to choose from. Admission is free for Young At Art members, $40 for Dixon members and $50 for the general public.
Keep the sampling going with Zoo Rendevous at the Memphis Zoo on Saturday night. $200 per person gets you food from over 70 Memphis area restaurants.
Germantown Festival is a good family event featuring arts & crafts, rides and the Running of the Weenies (interesting). The festival kicks off Saturday at 9:30 am. Admission is free.
Free concerts continue at the Levitt Shell, with shows starting tonight and continuing through Sunday night.
The Delta Fair & Music Festival wraps up this weekend. Pig and ostrich races continue along with music from The Bellamy Brothers and Vince Gill on Friday night and Boys Like Girls on Saturday night. Apparently the "must see" of the festival is the Banana Derby. Can't go wrong with monkeys riding dogs.
If festivals, fundraisers, monkey racing or music aren't your thing, there's always football. Jackson State and Tennessee State will face off in the Southern Heritage Classic at the Liberty Bowl on Saturday night. Good football to go along with great bands. Tickets are still available.
