Memphis Ranked In Preseason Poll, Candy Buy Back, Chef Needed At Chez Philippe

The USA/ESPN Top 25 Preseason Coaches' Poll was released yesterday and the Memphis Tigers are ranked number 19, one above the Tennessee-Knoxville Volunteers. Opening tip off is just a couple of weeks away.

Main Street Dental is starting a great program this Halloween season. On Tuesday, November 2, they are hosting a Halloween Candy Buy Back. From 8am - 6pm, Main Street Dental will give you $1 for every pound of your Halloween candy. The candy will then be organized into care packages and sent to United States military personnel overseas. Executive chef Reinaldo Alfonso has announced that he is leaving Chez Philippe to pursue other interests in Philadelphia, PA. The search is on for a more traditional French chef to replace him. Its always sad to see good culinary talent leave, especially when Memphis is trying to define itself as a restaurant city. Good luck Reny!
